Wabakimi Internal Frame Canoe Pack

Whether it’s a family canoe camping trip or a longer expedition, this portage pack helps you get away from it all. Excellent with a heavy load because our sewn-in frame sheet transfers the weight to your shoulders and hips - just like a hiking backpack. Custom-fit shoulder straps and hip belt (S,M,L,XL) gives you the stability and comfort to handle a heavy load over challenging portages. Its large volume fits all your canoe gear. DESCRIPTION

• 12 attachment points for extra gear. (6 webbing loops, 6 D-rings)
• Attached floating lid (adjustable) has a zippered pocket (#10 YKK zipper). The zipper is covered by a flap for protection.
• Snow cuff top with a draw-string closure and 3 compression straps secure the pack’s contents.
• 3 side compression straps, with quick release buckles on the top two.
• 4 padded handles on sides, front, and back for easy lifting.
• Bottom side sleeve pocket for tent poles etc.
• Tough 1000 Denier nylon fabric with double bottom, front and sides.
• Compression straps on the sides and under the lid compress your gear for better load control.

SUSPENSION SYSTEM

The Wabakimi Internal Frame Canoe Pack has a sewn-in plastic frame sheet, with two removable aluminum stays (for custom shaping.) A frame sheet  needs to be sewn in to transfer weight directly and efficiently.

It also has an adjustable torso length (S,M,L) This is critical for the frame to fit and work properly.

Beware of packs with no adjustable torso length, and frame sheets that are not sewn in permanently. Extensive field-testing showed that comfort and performance are severely compromised. They don’t transfer the load very well.

The suspension system (frame/torso, shoulder straps, hip belt) is designed to fit all genders. It can be adjusted for different people or family members.

All our canoe packs are custom fit to you, regardless of your body shape and size. A well-fitting portage pack reduces fatigue and helps keep you stable on rough terrain.

So spend a few minutes taking your measurements and selecting the best size.

Measurement Instructions

Take the following measurements with a soft measuring tape.

Then select your sizes from the Sizing Charts.

Back Length (Torso): distance along the spine from where the shoulders meet the neck (“X” marks this prominent bump / C-7 vertebra) to the point level with your iliac crest (“X” marks this prominent bone on the side of the body just below the waist)

Chest (Shoulder Straps): distance around the body level with the armpits

Hips (Hip Belt): distance around the body 3” below the top of the iliac crest

Frame / Torso Size

If your BACK measurements are between sizes, please go up in size.

Example: If your back measurement is 18.5”/47cm, then move up from Small to Medium.

Our shoulder straps are S-Shaped and comfortable for all genders.

Customize the Fit
• Removable plastic frame sheet with 2 aluminum stays that you can bend to the shape of your back for a custom fit. (S, M, L)
• You can easily adjust your pack to 3 torso sizes. Simply move the shoulder straps up or down, and reconnect the load lifters (yellow webbing) to the correct buckle. (2 choices)

• The back pad has heavy padding (3/4” / 19mm cushy reticulated foam over a layer of 1/2” / 13mm dense EVA foam)

• Lumbar pad has 1" / 25mm soft ether foam over a layer of 1/2” / 13mm dense EVA foam.
• Shoulder straps are S-shaped to fit all genders better. (S, M, L, XL)
• Hip belt is comfortable for all genders. (S, M, L, XL)
• Shoulder straps and hip belt have 2 layers of foam for comfort. (1/2” / 13mm high-quality EVA dense foam & 1/2” / 13mm soft ether foam)
